Live in Rack
Live in racking system consists of two main components: a staticracking structure and dynamic flow rails. The rails are typically equipped with full width rollers . set at a decline along the length of the rack. These rails, with the aid of gravity, allow for the pallet flow from the loading end to the unloading end with the speed of movement being controlled by in line brakes.
When a pallet is removed, the loads behind it move forward to the unloading position. This system is most commonly used in situations where storage density and inventory rotation are priorities. It enables a First in First out (FIFO) rotation while allowing for the movement of pallets from one area to another without the utilization of a material handling equipment.
Advantages
· Enhances space utilization by maximizing surface area utilization
· Enforces a strict FIFO rotation
· Improves efficiency & productivity allowing for higher throughputs
Enhances safety when compared to drive in as the operator is not required to drive into the lane
